Hello, how are you? In this Post I'm gonna talk about Changes to my study programme.
Personally I think that the subjects of Visual arts career is good, although a few years ago it changed so the students from 2020 onwards have a different study programme, the one that I'm studying is quite complete, letting us experiment different areas of visual arts and thus be more versatile… and too the theoric classes like seminars we have in third and fourth year are contingents to the current context of the arts what helps us to position ourselves and our works in the academic world, so about that I would like that we were thaught about how to use the arts in social issues... like to put the art in service of society and not just to learn how to enter in the academic world of expositions and museums.
The teaching methods are good, from day one we are thaught to be disciplined, because the methods of arts can be only learnt with constancy and practice… now it’s our job as students to doing that haha
Actually I'm not a person who does alot of co-curricular activities precisely due how demanding it's the career in terms of timing and energy, to learn how to do art is a full time job I think... and too because of personal issues, like responsibilities with my family and house... I think that the co-curricular activities that the university grants are pretty good and varied, but I dedicate my extra time to work a part-time job and attend to those personal issues.
About the length of studies I guess it's ok, eight semesters plus the degree or the three semesters of pedagogy is a quite complete studying time.
The faculty infrastructure is so bad... I mean yes we can still work in it, with workshops and its machines and tools that we can't afford in our houses but the fact that half of them doesn't work properly (or doesn't function at all) is just sad, plus this problem got worse because of the quarantine and the abandonment of the campus.
I think the best the Art Faculty could do -and the University- is to build another Faculty with new workshops and that contains all art careers, because the separation of them is too a big issue in the field of arts.
Sorry for extending too much and thanks for reading :-)
