Post 6: Postgraduate studies

Hello everyone, how are you?

In the future  I'd like to study an Art therapy postgraduate.

I'm interested in that area because combining psychology and art seems very remarkable to me. When I was a teenager I wanted to be a psychologist or psychiatrist, and also I studied social work for a year before switching to Visual arts, and to this day I'm very interested in mental health, mental illness, human behaviour and social labour. Along with that, to know how to express ourselves through art, improve mental health, and to guide people in that, creating community sounds like something I would really enjoy doing, especially with kids or teenagers.

I was looking at the Postgraduate in Art Therapy of the Faculty of Arts of the University and the subjects I'd like the most to study are General Psychology and Evaluation of Visual Expressions.

I haven't investigated other postgraduates more than the one I just talked about, but I would rather study here in Chile because of the money. To study here is expensive but I guess that doing it in another country could be more expensive and difficult... I really don't know, I have to investigate more.

I'd like to do a part-time course , face-to-face, because I think it's necessary to practice, like learn the activities and methods not only in theory but in practice and to be able to go to work with people.

Anyway I think I should start to take part in associations as a volunteer or something like that to gain experience.

Thanks for reading :-)
